Transcript: Dislocation
Obviously physical force should be used with care; moving a bound person around can put unusual strains on limbs. You should always be aware of the risk of falling, for example loose or surplus ropes can create a tripping hazard. Falling creates probably the biggest hazard not only from contact with the ground but also where limbs are attached to a static object.
For example this looks like a handy position but what happens if her knees go? Your arms just aren't designed to go that way.
As a preventative measure it's not a bad idea to attach a safety rope to a body harness to a secure overhead point. I'll be showing you how later. Hoists and pulleys should be used with care; the extra mechanical muscle they provide could easily result in dislocations, especially if you hit 'up' when you need 'down' on an electric hoist.
